Callousness cloaked in euphemism: a losing combination


Several months ago, I posted an article about delivering bad news (published in The Editorial Eye). Now, Matthew Stibbe points out how Radio Shack has obligingly provided a fine, fresh example of how not to do it: You’re fired. By email. With euphemisms.

The work force reduction notification is currently in progress. Unfortunately your position is one that has been eliminated.
